John has been appointed by the FFA to its Player Advisory Panel and had served on the FFA Disciplinary Tribunal which meets to administer the disciplinary arm of the Hyundai A-League

John has been elected to the role of Zone Representative for the region of Wimmera South Coast, which incorporates dozens of football clubs stretching from Geelong to Warnambool to Ballarat.
