Since 2005, John has been a judge at FIFA, in its Dispute Resolution Chamber. John is the nominee of FIFPro, the global representative body of the world’s soccer players. John sits as a representative of the Asian Football Confederation and adjudicates on disputes involving international employment contract disputes, national football associations and international clubs.

John retains a avid interest in sport and was fortunate to act as General Counsel and then Chief Executive of the Australian Professional Footballers’ Association, the peak representative body of Australia’s footballers– including the Socceroos, A­League players and professionally employed players in Europe.
